Windows 10 also has a snazzy virtual desktop feature, shortcut keys to quickly switch multi-monitor modes and easy shortcuts to snap or maximize windows. Windows 10 natively supports having different wallpapers on each screen. There are now a wealth of multi-monitor customization options built into windows, with support for just about any arrangement and mix or resolutions and orientations. Which means that, if you are already running Windows 10, there are a bunch of features baked into the system that you’d have needed a third-party solution for in the past. Microsoft has been paying attention to the world of third-party multi-monitor utilities. MultiMon is quite a stable piece of software as well, so if you have a multi-monitor system of the right vintage, it’s worth checking out.

This free tool is only designed to work up to Windows 7, but there are still plenty of computers out there running this older operating system. That includes not showing apps on the primary monitor taskbar that aren’t that monitor. Each monitor’s taskbar only shows the apps on that monitor. It can do this for up to three monitor setups. Windows 10, resolve 16.1 studio, intel i7-7800x, ram 128gb, 1080GTX.The free version of the dual monitor software adds taskbars to extended monitors in Windows. (Not really sure if you need other arrangements on the color page, that's not why I'm in Resolve).īut maybe save that for an other thread/time. Can't think of an other NLE that has the same rigid interface. The o so limited amount of interface arrangements of resolve on the edit page.

We could discuss the limiting factor here, and why I'm asking the forums in the first place. I'm here to get the most real estate out of an ultrawide monitor. Point being, I'm not here to discuss my setup. However that would not be a (editor) set-up that fits me or the way I like to work with clients. We're using the Ergotron monitor arms, which are expensive (almost as much as the monitors themselves), but it gives you infinite flexibility in arranging the displays. That is a pretty sweet (grading) set-up and I understand you like so show it every change you get

It's hard to beat two physical screens for GUI. Seems like the Ultrawide serves that same purpose as is. Jim Simon wrote:The purpose of using two monitors is more screen real estate.
